About Ripley Quaker Meeting
Ripley Quakers are a Christian Fellowship that is founded on the Quaker understanding of the Christian Message. We aim to learn from Jesus Christ, and follow him in all aspects of life.
We gather together in unprogrammed worship to wait upon him and receive his teaching, and allow him to order our lives according to the Father's Will.
We welcome anyone who wants to share in Christian Fellowship and grow in the new Life that Christ brings us.
- We recognise ourselves as a distinct body of Quakers
- We use the same Quaker Discipline as Ohio Yearly Meeting (conservative)
- Ohio Yearly Meetings has oversight of us.
We have the following as the criteria for membership;
- Convincement of the Everlasting Gospel as held by Friends, in which people are truly convicted of their sins by the Light of Christ, and turned to follow that Light
- That people are being set free from sin by God’s Power and this is manifested in how they actually live their lives
- Following on from this, right-living in accordance with our Quaker Testimonies
- Regular attendance at our meetings and gatherings
- Disengagement from other forms of religious practices
- To keep in regular contact with each other
- A willingness to both receive and give eldership and counsel
